What is Neox?

Neox is the name of a project I’m working on and the sole purpose of this blog is telling you all about my progress. It’s a part of the Gruedorf challenge, which is a sort of competition with no determined end. Instead you keep yourself from losing by keeping your blog alive by posting atleast once a week about your game and the progress you’ve made. This little challenge was started by the people I’ve known from the VERGE community which formed around VERGE (Vecna’s Extraordinary Roleplaying Game Engine). Just like Ika and RpgMaker2000 and so forth, it allows you to create games even if you’re a beginner.

Neox is a game that I code from the scratch though, it’s using C# as a language with the XNA framework as a background. This means that the game has the ability to run on Xbox 360 - which is so far undecided if I should aim for.

At the moment this game is a platform-game heavily infused with RPG-clich├ęs like a Final Fantasy style battlescreen, Quests and more features. I have revealed very little documentation about it, because I don’t want to spoil the game for anyone which is easily done if you ramble on about everything you create in your game.

If you ever have any questions, feel free to write comments on the blog!

I might update this page later, because this version was rather hastily written and feels a bit rough.
