I just wanted to leave a comment to say I think you've got a really neat idea going with this game. I can't wait to see more and I hope you eventually reach a state where you can see exactly where you want to take it.

Finally, I hate the graphical (and audio!) aspects of game design as well. There's be nothing left to worry about if those two factors could be "removed" ;)

Feel free to gank code from http://code.google.com/p/fracture/source/browse/trunk/Squared/Util/Curve.cs if it saves you time. Cubic interpolation is definitely more pleasing than linear in some cases.

Thank you for the kinds words and at the moment there's no playable demo sadly. I believe there's a lot of things to be done before I wish to produce a playable demo. I have already a few cutscenes and a beginning story in mind, but before that I need to start coding those systems. I've done a lot of work "in the middle" currently, so once I get going the battlesystem and platform world is already completed and ready for employment. Let's hope the sidescrolling part of this RPG adds to the experience, but that's what I hope to accomplish - since how the player handles the platform "mode" will affect battles.

Wow, you're fairly advanced in the game mecanics! I'm very impressed. The Edge idea is very good, it makes the old rpg battles concept seems fresh again hehe. And a sidescroller? Very interesting. Is there a demo we can try?

[...] Note: Fire 1, Fire 2 etc are just test-spells, the names for the real spells will be things like “Flicker”, “Char” and so forth and have different uses. I’m quite sure I won’t do the whole Fire, Fira, Firaga thing FF does, or any sort of Fire Bolt 1, Fire Bolt 2, like World of Warcraft. Each spell will be different and usable throughout the game is my intention. (this part added to Concept & Design) [...]
